The building does have some unique features, but we do not need two large indoor arenas right next door to each other. The Memorial Colisuem was doomed the day they started building the Rose Garden.
Whoever decided it was a good idea to build a sports stadium (they have expiration dates) as a memorial did not think this idea through. All sports stadiums will eventually outlive their usefullness and need to be redeveloped/retrofitted down the road.
I still don't agree that the taxpayers of Portland should contribute to private business ventures.
