Burnley FC Watch

Burnley's first season in the English Premier League in 33 years has led to a small streak of three wins at home and three losses on the road. This 3-0-3 record puts Burnley in a comfortable ninth place out of twenty teams in the EPL. Burnley's first two wins were against EPL powerhouses Manchester United and Everton. Burnley's tide of killing the big boys ended when they lost 3-0 at Chelsea and 4-0 to Liverpool. Last weeks win over Sunderland kept Burnley's unbeaten streak alive, but lost starting striker Martin Paterson possibly for the season with a bad knee injury. Next up is a road game against the Spurs from Tottenham this Saturday.

  1. Good for Burnley, hopefully the Timbers will emulate some of that success in 2011, maybe even surpass it. Burnley ain't winning any championships anytime soon though, the EPL is an elitist association. Dumb Redcoats.

  2. How cool is it though that a team from a town smaller than Beaverton can play in one of the worlds top leagues with clubs worth over billion bucks.
To be a young fan in Burnley must feel awesome, and think of those who have loved Burnley for decades, to see the first game EPL game at home in 33 years and beat the evil empire manchesthair united. Its priceless and what football is all about. On that day Burnley was king of the football world.
