Portland Timbers Open Tryouts

Put down that cheeseburger, drop the milkshake, and quit eating those oreos, because for the second year in a row the Timbers are holding open tryouts January 23-24th.

From the Timbers Front Office...
Players must be 18 years of age or older to participate and can sign up online; space is limited. Timbers coaches will select the top players from the open tryout to participate in the invite-only combine the following weekend. The registration fee for the open tryout is $65, and it will increase to $85 starting January 15.

  2. Not exactlly, these open tryouts will allow you to go on to the closed tryouts being held for the 2010 team. Now if you were to perform at an MLS level in the 2010 season, you would have a chance to tryout for MLS 2011. Good luck.

  4. January 2010, it's for this season. I'd assume they'd have to give you some sort of contract to get you to play. Unless you play for cheeseburgers.

  9. Well I would only recommend trying out if you have some level of professional experience. The Timbers are likely to have some form of tryouts come this Winter. English keepers need not apply.
