The Dutch are quite possibly the best team, to never win a World Cup. Rinus Michels "the general" is the inventor of Total Football, a tactic that the Dutch perfected during the 1970's. Total Football is a tactic in which any player on the field can switch roles with any other player on the field, which has heavily influenced the modern game.
Looking back at the the last 40 years of Dutch football and the list runs long with legends of the game, Cruyff, Van Basten, Guillt, Kluivert and Bergkamp just to name a few. Now the Netherlands is producing its newest slew of legends, Sneijder, Kuyt, van der Vaart, Von Perise and Babel. A great performance by these players will solidify their place in football lore. The Dutch are always dangerous and their appetite to hold up the Cup is stronger than ever.
The Netherlands will be playing in Group C among Japan, Denmark and Cameroon.
