Brian Farber's first goal for the Timbers

Brian Farber scores a header off a great cross from Ryan Pore on May 2nd at PGE Park against the Carolina RailHawks. The play started with a quickly taken free kick, which caught the complaining RailHawks off guard. The final result was 2-0 first win of the season. Here are a few angles from fans in the stands.

  1. From the Columbian yesterday:

Wilkinson, who expects about 15 players from the 2009 squad to return for 2010, said the impending move to MLS will significantly impact the way the 2010 roster is built.

  2. Good videos, good memories.

15 players to return? that's quite a few, but what does he mean with the MLS in mind? I love our current timbers, but i hope we bring in a lot of fresh new top-of-the-line talent when we go to the MLS. Not a bunch of guys who weren't quite good enough to stay in the MLS. I want to take over in our first year!

People are going to hate me for saying that....

  3. Your mom hates you too, but who's counting? There will definitely be a big shake up in our roster when we join MLS. I really think Ptown can attract some great players just because its an affordable city to live in compared to say NY or LA. Its also cooler than places such as KC, San Jose or Dallas, I have never heard anyone say that they love or dream of living in those three places. Salaries aren't enormous, so quality of life can play a part in where a player chooses to try and be. At least that is what I am thinking after a nice day like today.
