The situation in AC St. Louis looks finally stable, weeks after they folded their sister operation St. Louis Athletica, a WPS team, there were question marks surrounding the financial situation in STL, and fears that the club would fold before finishing its first season. But guess who stepped in with some cash, Jeff Cooper, duh and now guess who packed their bags and was sent home, head coach Claude Anelka, duh. Claude, is the brother of Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka, who was also sent home packing from the French team, only to watch his national team implode only like only the French can.

Well the conditions in STL look much better, after weeks of mystery of what would happen to the club. They beat NSC Minnesota in the 2nd round of the US Open Cup and will head to LA this week to face the Galaxy. The AC St. Louis team was given extra motivation to win in Minnesota, as Cooper addressed the team before the match and told the players there would be bonuses for every player if they won. Former Timber Luke Kreamalmeyer, scored the game's only goal and the most important goal ever of the young franchise. It should be noted that Kreamalmeyer led the Timbers in 2006 with 9 goals and was the team MVP in that tough and rocky year.
