Game Preview

Portland is on a hot streak of eight straight unbeaten games (7 league games, 1 friendly). Montreal is off to a slower start, but got a huge victory last weekend in Rochester with a goal by Roberto Brown in the 80th minute. The game with Rochester was a foul filled affair with 8 yellow cards and an ejection in 60th minute of the Rhino's Chris Nurse. Rochester playing dirty and a man down, so what else is new? Roberto Brown a former Colorado Rapids team mate of Stephen Keel, and Tacoma native Joey Gjertsen lead the team with 12 shots and 2 goals each. The Former Italian club player Rocco Placentino leads the team in assists with three.
The key to this game will be the same as the past few, Portland's defense. Portland has four shutouts in eight league games and has not allowed an opponent to score more than one goal so far this season. Our solid defense has left it up our potent offense to seal the victory.

Game Notes:

- A win tonight would put the Timbers just a point away from second place

  5. Hey Dan, I made that mistake as well. What an awful game. It sounds like we missed a nice finish by the Timbers.
