So the women of college soccer prove once again, that they are tougher then the boys. This incident flared up in Eugene, between the other OSU, (Oklahoma State University) and the Oregon Ducks. And thanks to Elizabeth Lambert, many will never see womens soccer the same way.

I finally went to see the soccer documentary Pelada last Thursday and I encourage any and everyone to go see it. The film is playing at the Hollywood Theater for its second run. The film follows two ex-college soccer players as they travel the world searching the road less traveled for pick up games. From roof tops to prisons, the adventure is fun ride to watch.

You Have to Be Loving Your Boys Right Now!

What a great 12 hours it was as Portland kicked off in Bremerton and got an impressive result against the Kitsap Pumas, to set up what we all were hoping for a battle against seattle in our house. The Timbers played some great football yesterday and made us all proud. Ross Smith has show prowess in the air, and used it to full effect to start the Timbers up. Then Dike had his coming out party and lit up Kitsap for the hat trick. This is now two wins in a row for the Timbers, something they have not done since the first two games of the season.

Fresh off a sweet smokey Timber victory, the US kicked off their fate and just when it was starting to feel hopeless, they brought the ruckus! Footie fans, or should I say USA fans you shall not forget where you were at on June 23, 2010 at 8:48am Pacific Standard time. It was the storybook ending, after 91 minutes of nail biting, bloody lips and shots off the post. In the end Donovan and the USA national team right fully walked off the field a heroes.

So Adidas almost pulled off a slicker ad then Nike, by having Snoop smoke some fools, Beckham get an offer from FC Jabba, Daft Punk doing deals with Hans Solo and Beckenbauer drinking in the background. WC ads beat cheesy super bowl ads all day.

Timber's Jersey Display at Nike World Headquaters

We attended the Boca Junior's practice at Nike World Headquarters last week and decided to explore the campus a bit. The campus includes many sports fields including perfect pitches, where some of the best youth teams across the US were playing in a Man U sponsored tourney. The Nike Campus is filled with bright shinny fancy things like huge office buildings, life-size bronze statues and some of the best sports memorabilia you could ever find on the planet.

We were happy to see a collection at Nike and football titled "The DNA of Nike Football," and it was very cool. The pictures tell the story best, for bigger sizes click on them.

On the other hand the spurs have a tricky little ball boy working for them.

What do you do as a defender, when some flashy blond haired striker tries to do some cheeky step over on you? You clock him upside the head, duh! This brilliant defender doesn't take fancy footwork without getting some special moves in of his own. Now kids, this can take some practice and may result in a few cards before you get it just right, but as you learn the judo chop, strikers will learn to take their fancy shat somewhere else. Still, a great little pass to the left, unlucky miss off the side of the post.
