Red Bull Arena Stadium Profile
The Red Bull Arena will host its first game this March, in delays that would make PGE Park deal look like child's play. City politic delays and a change of club ownership may have eaten up time, but it has led to an impressive stadium that is similar to modern designs around the world. The mostly transparent roof will extend to the touchlines allowing natural sunlight in, while protecting the crowd from the elements. Capacity will be at just over 25,000, at a cost of $180 million. The site is in Harrison, New Jersey is about 10 miles out of NYC. While it is not in NYC, it is easily accessible by train as can be seen in this video of some season ticket holders picking out their seats.
New York Red Bulls first MLS game in the new stadium will be March 27th against the Chicago Fire. The MLS's newest soccer specific stadium should have a big 2010, as many people are predicating a near sell out of every match. Although the many suites, may be a harder sell in this economic climate. Large crowds combined with the roof should mean that Red Bull Arena becomes one the loudest in the MLS. This newest stadium should help continue the hype and growth of the MLS.
The New York Red Bulls came up with a clever way to encourage people to donate to Haiti relief efforts, if you give $100, you will receive a tour of the new arena before it opens with a player from the team.

Game 1 Salgaocar 2 - Mohun Bagan 1
Salgaocar went down one goal early, but two later goals by Salgaocar gave them the much needed three points. Keita scored one those goals in the 44th minute against Mohun.

Game 2 Salgaocar 1 - Churchill 2
Salgaocar is in danger of being dropped out of India's top league, the I-league. Keita got the team off to a good start with a goal in the ninth minute against the defending champions Churchill.
Mandjou Keita had a great game, but in the 2nd half a clash of heads led to Keita coming out for a few minutes as his head was bleeding. As time ticked off, it looked as if Salgaocar would get a much needed point, but in the 89th minute Churchill finished it off in a 2-1 win.

A few minutes later, some more impressive play from Keita on the left flank saw him control a long ball and play it in to Beevan, who took a touch and released Keita into the box, but the striker's powerful shot to the near post was tipped over very well by Arindam.

According to Street & Smiths, the Union are close to a deal to sell the naming rights of the stadium to what else, an energy firm. The deal is rumored to be worth 20 million for 10 years. PGE Park's naming contract will be done at the end of 2010, so we could see a new name by the time we start the 2011 campaign.
