The Mexico - United States rivalry has become one of the most heated in world football. While some people in the states may rarely pay attention to the beautiful game, in Mexico the game is ingrained in the culture and international games are a matter of national pride. Mexico a two time host of the World Cup, has never advanced past the quarter-finals. Mexico has qualified for every WC since 1994 and has been able to advance to the second round in each of those.
